SANT BABA RANJIT SINGH PUBLIC SCHOOL Guidelines and Important Information For Parents

Dear parents,

You will be helping the school and the child, if you pay attention to the following:-

The school diary is used as a means of school-home communication. YOU ARE REQUESTED TO CHECK THE REMARKS AND HOMEWORK DAILY given by teacher and SIGN THE SAME regularly.

Avoid criticizing the teacher or the school in the presence of your child because it causes the student to lose his/her respect for the teacher with consequent failure to learn from him/her. If you have any legitimate complaint, meet the Principal personally.

Restrict your child from using mobile, computer or playing video games or watching T.V.

The school timings are 8:00 am to 2:00pm during summer and 9:00 am to 3:00pm during winter.

Discipline

1) All students must abide by the "School Decorum" all times.

2) Use of derogatory language will lead to very strict disciplinary action.

3) Special care should be taken of school property

4) Don’t waste water, paper and electricity.

5) Students are not permitted to bring mobile phones, valuables or any other electronics to school. If found with a student, during School hours or being used on school campus they shall be confiscated immediately. The school will not be responsible for any such loss

6) No Student is allowed to bring sports equipment without prior permission.

7) Bunking classes, rude and arrogant behavior with any member of the staff or fellow students, littering the school premises, damage to library books or any other property of the school will lead to strict disciplinary action and penalisation.

8) In absence of your teacher keep discipline in the class.

9) Students/Parents should not bring visitors to school without the prior permission of the Principal.

Uniform

1) Students are expected to attend the school in proper school uniform. Non-kesadhari boys should keep their hair short. Patka is compulsory for the Kesa-dhari boys up to 5th class. Turban is compulsory for the Kesa-Dhari boys of classes 6th to 12th.

2) For girls, the correct length of skirt is mandatory. Buttoning of cuffs is must for both boys and girls.

3) Student must be regular and punctual to the school. They must dress-up in proper neat uniform to the school otherwise disciplinary action will be taken against the offender.

4) Mehndi on hands, nail varnish and streaking of hair is not permitted.

5) It is necessary for students to be in uniform if they come to school on PTM, holidays for extra classes and for any other work.

Punctuality/Leaving The School Premises

1) Punctuality is essential and students must report to school on time.

2) Students who come by their own transport must be in school 10 minutes before the start of school. Students who come late to school shall be sent home after two warnings and marked absent.

3) No student can leave the school campus during school hours without the permission of the Principal.

4) Parents must bring parent card to pick up students from school.

5) Every second Saturday of the month is a holiday.

Attendance / Unit Tests / Weekly Tests/ Examinations

1) Students must have a minimum of 75% attendance during an academic year to qualify or appear for the Annual Examination.

2) Absence without leave or unexplained absence for more than 15 consecutive days renders the student liable to have his/her name struck off the school rolls.

3) Exemption from weekly/Unit Tests/examination will be granted only on medical grounds and leave sanctioned prior to the date of test.

4) In case a child does not appear for a Weekly/Unit Test / Examination due to illness, parents must ensure that a medical certificate is sent on the 1st day the child attends school after the illness.

5) All Weekly/Unit Test and Examination answer papers and Report Cards must be signed by parents.

Miscellaneous

1) Parents are required to inform the school if there is any change in their address and telephone numbers.

2) On the birthday of the child, you are humbly requested not to send any eatables, stationery or expensive items for distribution in class for students as well as teachers. OUR BLESSINGS ARE ALWAYS WITH OUR CHILDREN.

3) Exemption from weekly/Unit Tests/examination will be granted only on medical grounds and leave sanctioned prior to the date of test.

4) English is the medium of instruction in the school. Therefore, it is compulsory for all students & teachers to use English language for academic work as well as conversation in school premises.

VISITING HOURS

You are welcome to meet the PRINCIPAL from 9 am to 10 am and after 1:45pm. Parents are requested to cooperate in the working of the school by enforcing regularity and discipline and by taking a general interest in their child’s progress.
